In a recent interview with MSNBC, Jasmine Crockett criticized GOP officials for continuing to follow President Donald Trump's lead despite growing controversies.

"They want to show they're loyal to this, you know, I don't even know what to call him," she said. "I've called him so many things, but wannabe Hitler for sure."

Jasmine Crockett also accused President Donald Trump and his allies of trying to suppress information surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case.

"[Republican officials] want to pledge their loyalty to him, and they know that he does not want this released," Crockett said.

Trump has recently faced backlash for not releasing related files, calling them a "hoax."

"I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody," the president stated. "It's pretty boring stuff. It's sordid, but it's boring, and I don't understand why it keeps going."

President Donald Trump has reportedly entertained conspiracy theories suggesting Jeffrey Epstein's death was a cover-up, not a suicide.

However, the FBI recently released a memo about the convicted s** trafficker's death and claimed he did not maintain a "client list" of co-conspirators.

Earlier this year, Attorney General Pam Bondi seemingly hinted that she had a list of names on her desk, though she later clarified she was referring to the Epstein case directly.

As public backlash over the FBI memo continues, Jasmine Crockett believes that President Donald Trump's allies will continue to fall in line.

"I think they are also concerned about the damage that it may do. If he's trying to hide it, they understand that it is most likely problematic for him as well as the MAGA brand," she said.

"I don't anticipate that they will be on board for doing anything that may harm them or their fearless leader," she added.

Donald Trump has been a vocal critic of journalists and comedians who don't approve of his administration, which is why the CNN star isn't surprised at Stephen Colbert's recent firing.

"Obviously, President Trump has made no secret of his hatred of being mocked —specifically, the jokes that people like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel make at his expense," Jake Tapper said on CNN.

While CBS didn't mention Donald Trump in the announcement, the timeline continues to fuel speculation.

"Paramount is in a bend-the-knee phase," Jake Tapper shared. "Paramount is attempting to please President Trump as Paramount's Shari Redstone waits for the Trump administration's blessing for a lucrative merger with a company called Skydance."

CBS executives have said their decision to end Stephen Colbert's show "is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late-night" broadcasting.

However, Elizabeth Warren and Senator Adam Schiff have asked the network to confirm that their decision wasn't done to please Donald Trump.

Donald Trump sued CBS over their 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris, but legal experts call his claims "substantively very weak," as Trump accused the network of editing the interview to "tip the scales in favor of the Democratic Party" before the election.

"Paramount was determined to settle with the president, and it's that timing that CBS was no doubt attempting to head off in their announcement of the termination of the Colbert show — which was doing very well in ratings, by the way," Jake Tapper stated.

Despite what Donald Trump is labeling the "Jeffrey Epstein Hoax," the politician claimed he's only gaining support from the right.

"My poll numbers within the Republican party and MAGA, have gone up, significantly, since the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax was exposed by the radical left Democrats and, just plain 'troublemakers,'" Trump penned. "They have hit 90%, 92%, 93%, and 95%, in various polls and are all Republican party records. The general election numbers are my highest, EVER! People like strong borders and all of the many other things I have done. GOD BLESS AMERICA. MAGA!"

Although many would think Donald Trump was exaggerating with his claim, CNN's Harry Enten showed the data to prove conservatives are still backing him despite the Jeffrey Epstein drama.

"This one surprised me a bit because of all these complaints online going after Trump and the Epstein files, you might think his approval ratings were going down with Republicans. If anything, they're going up!" the reporter explained during a recent broadcast. "Republicans who approve of Trump — look at our CNN poll. The prior one, 86 percent. The one out this week, 88 percent with Republicans. How about Quinnipiac? The prior poll, 87 percent approval for Republicans. This week out, 90 percent with Republicans. If anything, Donald Trump's approval rating has gone up since this whole Epstein saga started. He is at the apex, or close in terms of his popularity with Republican voters."

Donald Trump has been extremely defensive over people calling him out for the lack of transparency over the Jeffrey Epstein case.

"My PAST supporters have bought into this 'bulls***,' hook, line and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson and probably never will, even after being conned by the lunatic left for 8 long years," the businessman wrote in a Truth Social update. "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats' work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!"

During a meeting with the press in the Oval Office, Trump added, "Some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into the net and so they try to do the Democrats' work."

According to multiple insiders who spoke to CBS News, Justin Fulcher — who was promoted to his role at the Pentagon from Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency in April — was allegedly "ousted" from Pete Hegseth's team. However, his public statement claims otherwise.

"As planned, I've completed six months of service in government to my country," Fulcher wrote in an update shared to X. "None of this could have happened without Secretary Hegseth's decisive leadership or President [Donald] Trump's continued confidence in our team. I will continue to champion American warfighters in all future endeavors."

Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell also said in a statement, "The Department of Defense is grateful to Justin Fulcher for his work on behalf of President Trump and Secretary Hegseth. We wish him well in his future endeavors."

After a string of leaked text messages about highly classified issues were made public, Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick, Senior Adviser Dan Caldwell and Chief of Staff to Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg, Colin Carroll, were fired in April.

"There is a complete meltdown in the building, and this is really reflecting on the secretary's leadership," an insider claimed to Politico about Pete Hegseth and his staff.

A source also alleged some are worried the 45-year-old "has surrounded himself with some people who don't have his interests at heart."

Per NBC News, Pete Hegseth also removed the Naval Academy's first female superintendent, Yvette Davids, from her job. However, the admiral wasn't demoted or forced to retire from military service. Instead, she was nominated to serve in a different role.

In April 2025, Hegseth raved about terminating the Pentagon's Women, Peace and Security program. "This morning, I proudly ENDED the 'Women, Peace & Security' (WPS) program inside the [Pentagon]. WPS is yet another woke divisive/social justice/[Joe] Biden initiative that overburdens our commanders and troops — distracting from our core task: WAR-FIGHTING," he wrote on social media. "WPS is a UNITED NATIONS program pushed by feminists and left-wing activists. Politicians fawn over it. Troops HATE it. DoD will hereby executive [sic] the minimum of WPS required by statute and fight to end the program for our next budget. GOOD RIDDANCE WPS!"

According to The Daily Beast, John Oliver called CBS' decision to pull the plug on Stephen Colbert's program "terrible, terrible news for the world of comedy."

The Late Show — which first premiered in 1993 with David Letterman — built a legacy within the television industry. CBS canceled the series after Colbert publicly criticized their decision to settle their lawsuit with Donald Trump, but the network claimed it was "purely a financial decision."

John Oliver said he's enthusiastic to see what Stephen Colbert pulls off in the final episodes.

"I'm partly excited to see what they're gonna do for the next ten months," Oliver gushed.

"I love Stephen, I love his staff. I love that show," Oliver admitted. "Late-night shows mean a lot to me, not just because I work in them, but because even growing up in England, I would watch [David] Letterman's show, which of course was Stephen's show, and think about what a glamorous world that was."

The Wall Street Journal recently claimed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent spoke with Donald Trump about why he thought it wasn't the right move to dismiss Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell from his duties.

"Bessent said firing Powell was unnecessary because the economy is doing well and markets have responded positively to the president's policies, according to one of the people familiar with the matter," the publication claimed in their report. "Bessent also reminded Trump that Fed officials have signaled they could cut rates twice before year's end, this person said."

In response, Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account to dismiss the accusation that Scott Bessent was influencing his decision regarding Jerome Powell.

"The Wall Street Journal ran a typically untruthful story today by saying that Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, explained to me that firing Jerome 'Too Late' Powell, the worst Federal Reserve Chairman in history, would be bad for the market," the Republican leader alleged. "Nobody had to explain that to me. I know better than anybody what's good for the market and what's good for the U.S.A. If it weren't for me, the market wouldn't be at record highs right now, it probably would have CRASHED! So, get your information CORRECT. People don't explain to me. I explain to them!"

Donald Trump took legal action against The Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, Rupert Murdoch, as well as other executives, after they ran a story claiming the right-winger went in on a lewd 50th birthday gift — an alleged crass drawing and note left in a collaborative book — for Jeffrey Epstein in 2003.

"This is not me," The Apprentice star claimed about the publication's report about the alleged message. "This is a fake thing. It's a fake Wall Street Journal story. I never wrote a picture in my life. I don't draw pictures of women. It's not my language. It's not my words."

Trump emphasized how he would be going after the outlet in the courts, stating, "Just like I sued everyone else."

Jeffrey Epstein's former attorney wants Ghislaine Maxwell freed from prison.

During an interview on Newsmax's Sunday Agenda, the late s** offender's lawyer Alan Dershowitz claimed Epstein's partner-in-crime's 20-year sentence should be commuted so she can work with the government to give them information about their past trafficking operation.

During the television appearance, Alan Dershowitz claimed Ghislaine Maxwell is more valuable to the government outside of prison than she is being locked up.

"Ghislaine Maxwell is basically serving the sentence that [Jeffrey] Epstein would have gotten," the 86-year-old said. "She should never be in jail for 20 years. What should happen is, she should be free. She should have her sentence commuted. She should then be called in front of Congress. Have Congress give her total immunity and then she can tell everything she knows."

"She knows everything and I think she is improperly serving a sentence at this point in time and should be released for time served and let her then disclose everything," he pointed out. "She would have no reason for withholding anything."

Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving a two-decade sentence for conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse underage girls before he died in 2019.

The 63-year-old has been trying to appeal her case, citing that she was shielded by a non-prosecution agreement the late financer brokered with a U.S. attorney's office in Florida in 2006.

Maxwell appealed to the Supreme Court after a federal appeals court shut down her request. "It would be extremely strange if the NPA left Epstein himself open to federal prosecution in another district — as eventually occurred, while protecting his coconspirators from prosecution anywhere," Solicitor General John Sauer penned in a brief to the highest legal authority in the United States.

Jeffrey Epstein's case has been making headlines after President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice claimed the 66-year-old did not have a "client list" of high-profile people.

"This systematic review revealed no incriminating 'client list,'" the official memo stated. "There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties."

While appearing on MSNBC, Nancy Pelosi discussed the controversy surrounding Donald Trump administration's approach to Jeffrey Epstein's case, and the Democrat surprisingly threw the president somewhat of a lifeline.

Chris Jansing asked Pelosi if "there's anything the president can do now to get his supporters to move off of the Epstein issue?" 

"Again, this is a distraction. This is a distraction. We have major issues right here with things we're voting on today in the Congress, again, in terms of the rescission that the president and the Senate have sent back over us to cut all of these resources out of helping poor people throughout the world, to be America play its leadership role in soft power to keep us safe, and to keep us healthy, so that we-, viruses know no boundary," Pelosi replied about the president's "One Big Beautiful Bill."

Nancy Pelosi noted that the general public is focused on Jeffrey Epstein and the Alligator Alcatraz detention center instead of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" budget cuts.

"And instead we're talking about him-, about this thing, and his own base has its own views of what the president should do. I'll leave it up to them to talk it out," Pelosi said. "But again, whether it's Jeffrey Epstein or Alcatraz, it's all off the subject of what they're doing with this budget that is harmful to the kitchen table, meeting the kitchen-table needs of the American people."

"I want to make sure I understand what you mean when you say distraction. Do you think that Pam Bondi going to Alcatraz is meant potentially as a distraction from Epstein, which has not gone over well at all with the president's base?" the anchor asked.

During their debate, Piers Morgan and Joy Reid accused each other of fixating on race. Morgan first questioned why Reid wasn't bothered by Barack Obama's deportation numbers.

"It was three million," Morgan stated, prompting Reid to ask, "And your point being what?" 

Morgan pressed her on why she wasn't upset by the high number of deportations under Obama, while Reid argued that President Donald Trump's approach had been more aggressive and lacked due "process."

The discussion quickly shifted to race when Piers Morgan challenged Joy Reid to condemn Barack Obama's deportations, claiming he deported more people than any other American president in history during his eight years.

Reid responded by saying Obama made a "moral compromise" on the southern border to win Republican support, whereas President Donald Trump's actions were a "moral horror."

Morgan countered, "Obama deported a lot more people than Trump and most of them were brown and last I checked Barack Obama isn't white."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared that Donald Trump received a diagnosis after noticing "mild swelling in his lower legs."

Aside from his lower body, there have been concerns about bruising on the president's hands, which she credited to "irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin," an over-the-counter medication the real estate tycoon takes to protect his heart health.

"In the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician with all of you today," Leavitt said during a press briefing.

"In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs," Dr. Sean Barbabella wrote in a memo.

"In keeping with routine medical care and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House Medical Unit," Barabella continued.

Donald Trump's leg swelling isn't fatal or life-threatening, according to Sean Barbabella.

"The president underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies. Bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70," the memo continued.
"Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or arterial disease."

While there was curiosity about Donald Trump's hands, Sean Barbabella confirmed that the president doesn't have heart issues or alternative health problems.

"An echocardiogram was also performed and confirmed normal cardiac structure and function," Barabella said. "No signs of heart failure, renal impairment or systemic illness were identified."

The doctor also shared that the marks on Trump's hand were "consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen."

The controversy comes as Trump recently filed a lawsuit against Paramount Global, accusing the company of editing a Kamala Harris interview to make her appear more favorable.

Last year, President Donald Trump sat down with Fox News, where he was asked whether he would declassify the Jeffrey Epstein files if re-elected.

Speaking with host Rachel Campos-Duffy, wife of current Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Trump responded that he would "absolutely" declassify the Epstein files, as well as documents related to "9/11" and "JFK."

However, a second version of the interview has surfaced — and critics are accusing the network of "selective editing."

In the alternate version, President Donald Trump offers a more hesitant stance. He reportedly said he might not declassify documents if they contain "phony stuff," a part of his response that was not included in the initial airing.

"You don't want to affect people's lives if there's phony stuff in there," Trump reportedly said, noting he'd be "less" likely to release such files.

Fox News has since denied any wrongdoing. In a statement to The Daily Beast, a network spokesperson said the edits were not "selective," but simply standard editorial cuts for time.

However, California Rep. Robert Garcia is calling for further scrutiny. He claims the omissions raise serious concerns that the network may have deliberately tried to protect then-candidate Trump from further association with Epstein.

In a letter obtained by CNN, Garcia wrote, "It is legitimate to ask whether President Donald Trump himself or those close to him may have actively encouraged" it.

Fox News maintains that Trump's "full answer" did air in a later broadcast the following day.

President Donald Trump recently alleged that his uncle John Trump, who was a professor at MIT, taught Theodore Kaczynski — the man known as the "Unabomber." 

Theodore spent decades anonymously sending mail bombs that killed three people and injured 23 between 1978 and 1995.

At an event in Pittsburgh, Donald said he once asked his uncle about Theodore's performance as a student.

According to Donald, his uncle described Theodore as "seriously good" and said he would "go around correcting everybody." However, this claim has been widely disputed.

Reports clarify that while Theodore Kaczynski was highly educated, he never attended MIT. Instead, he studied at Harvard and the University of Michigan.

Additionally, the timeline contradicts Donald Trump's story — John Trump passed away in 1985, a decade before Theodore's identity as the Unabomber became public in 1995.

It was only after the release of Theodore's manifesto in 1995 that his family began to suspect his involvement in the bombings.

When asked about the disproven claims during a recent press conference, Karoline Leavitt didn't provide a direct answer.

Andrew Feinberg, White House correspondent for The Independent, questioned her about what he called the "impossible" story.

"With so many issues going on in the world, I'm a little bit surprised you would ask such a question, although I'm not sometimes, coming from you, I will say," Karoline said, "but I'm willing to give you an answer, nevertheless."

She then praised John Trump as "a very intelligent professor" and said, "The president is very proud of his family. In fact, I or rather the president has a letter from his uncle on the MIT letterhead that sits in the Oval Office dining room. Maybe we'll let you see it sometime."

"I think the time has come for the administration to release all of the files regarding Jeffrey Epstein's investigation and prosecution," Mike Pence said.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the president allegedly left a scandalous greeting in a leather-bound book filled with well wishes for the late s** offender who turned 50 in 2003. Despite the accusation, Trump said the claim is "fake" and threatened to take legal action against the publication.

Per the news outlet, Donald Trump's name was written in the ledger along with typewritten text framed by the hand-drawn outline of what seemed to be a naked woman. The Apprentice star's signature appeared as a "squiggly" mark below the female's waist "mimicking pubic hair."

"Inside the outline of the naked woman was a typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person," the paper reported.

"Donald: Yes, there is, but I won't tell you what it is. Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is. Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey," the passage continued. "Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it. Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that? Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you. Trump: A pal is a wonderful thing. Donald Trump denied he wrote the salacious birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein and threatened to sue if the story went public.

"This is not me," the politician told the outlet that published the report. "This is a fake thing. It's a fake Wall Street Journal story. I never wrote a picture in my life. I don't draw pictures of women. It's not my language. It's not my words."

Trump made it clear he will be taking legal action against the publication, stating: "Just like I sued everyone else."

The bombshell allegation comes after Donald Trump received intense backlash from Republicans over the Department of Justice claiming they did not find evidence of Jeffrey Epstein having a "client list" and that they were closing the case.

After Donald Trump sued CBS over their 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris, the network's parent company, Paramount, came to a $16 million settlement with the president.

While changes are expected, Jon Stewart has yet to receive a cancelation notice from Paramount, which owns Comedy Central.

"They haven't called me and said like, 'Don't get too comfortable in that office, Stewart,'" Stewart joked on "The Weekly Show" podcast. "But let me tell you something, I've been kicked out of s***tier establishments than that. We'll land on our feet. No, I honestly don't know."

Status reported that Jon Stewart's hosting gig could be affected once his contract ends due to Skydance's acquisition of Paramount.

"I'm obviously not a lawyer, but I did watch Goodfellas," Jon Stewart said, in reference to the claims. "That sounds illegal."

Stewart noted that networks are "being held to a standard that will never be satisfactory to Donald Trump" and "no one can ever kiss his a** enough."

Paramount's merger with Skydance Media remains pending, but the company isn't far removed from Donald Trump. Jon Stewart said that Skydance CEO David Ellison, whose father, Larry Ellison, is a part of Trump's circle, might have a different "ideology" about which Paramount programs to keep, but the host noted that "ideology may not play a part" in the decision.

Stewart previously said that if The Daily Show was canceled, he would accept the decision.

"They may sell the whole f****** place for parts, I just don't know," Stewart said. "And we'll deal with it when we do. But I'm so happy and proud of everybody that works over there. They want to do that? Knock themselves out."

While Jon Stewart's role is still safe, Stephen Colbert announced that CBS pulled the plug on The Late Show in a clip that was shared to Instagram.

"Yeah, I share your feelings," he told the audience. "It's not just the end our our show, but it's the end of The Late Show on CBS. I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away."

Barack Obama's support of Michelle Obama seemed to irritate Jesse Watters, as he blamed the Democrat's love for his partner for why the left-wing party has lost political power to Donald Trump and Republicans.

"This is why he puts himself on his wife's podcast — which real men don't do," The Five host said during an episode of the news show. "He ships all these jobs to China and then wonders why men are looking around like, 'What are we supposed to do now?' So, they're angry, they voted Trump and then the next thing you know they say we're waging war on women and men are toxic and the patriarchy's holding everybody down. So, the men just leave the party."

Jesse continued to rant, "He's a boring guy and the same thing that's happening with the rest of the Democratic party. Without all the lights, camera, action and the teleprompters, you sit a guy down with his 'wife' and it's just a boring, nerdy conversation that no one can relate to."

While Jesse Watters may be bothered by Barack and Michelle Obama, the power couple couldn't care less about what people say about them.

After rumors swirled that the duo was on the verge of splitting, the two shut down the speculation.

While Barack appeared on Michelle and brother Craig Robinson's "IMO" podcast, the famous sibling joked, "Wait, you guys like each other?"

"That's the rumor mill," the former first lady made clear.

"She took me back. It was touch and go for a while," the ex-commander-in-chief joked.

"It's so nice to have you both in the same room together," Craig pointed out.

"I know, because when we aren't, folks think we're divorced," Michelle replied.

Elsewhere in their conversation, Craig Robinson admitted he's constantly bombarded with questions about the state of Michelle Obama's marriage to Barack Obama, even citing an encounter where the woman asked, "What did he do?"

Despite the public's concern, the Becoming author made it clear everything is good with her longtime husband. "There hasn't been one moment in our marriage where I have thought about quitting on my man," Michelle said. "And we've had some really hard times. We've had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures. I've become a better person because of the man I'm married to."

Following Donald Trump and the Department of Justice telling the public they found no evidence of Jeffrey Epstein having a "client list" — and made it clear they were not investigating the matter any further — Republicans expressed their outrage.

Donald Trump slammed his right-wing supporters, calling them "weak" and easily influenced by Democrats over the Jeffrey Epstein case.

"My PAST supporters have bought into this 'bulls***,' hook, line and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson and probably never will, even after being conned by the lunatic left for 8 long years," he wrote in a Truth Social update. "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats' work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!"

The businessman doubled down on his anger toward the people who voted for him during a meeting with the press in the Oval Office. "Some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into the net and so they try to do the Democrats' work," he made clear.

Jimmy Kimmel slammed the network in an Instagram Story that included Stephen Colbert's announcement.

"F*** you and all your Sheldons CBS," Kimmel wrote,  appearing to reference CBS' hit The Big Bang Theory spinoff, Young Sheldon.

CBS cited the reason as to why they canceled The Late Show, which premiered in 1993 with David Letterman, as "purely a financial decision." 

While CBS didn't discuss Donald Trump, some fans speculated that Colbert's show was impacted by the president's lawsuit against the network and Paramount's pending sale to Skydance Media.

In his announcement, Stephen Colbert was admittedly disappointed in the network's decision to end The Late Show.

"Yeah, I share your feelings," he told his audience, as they screamed "no" upon hearing the news. "It's not just the end of our show, but it's the end of The Late Show on CBS. I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away."

Senator Adam Schiff, who was Stephen Colbert's guest the night of the announcement, and other politicians shared their disappointment on X.

"Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert, who announced his show was cancelled," Schiff said. "If Paramount and CBS ended The Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better."

"CBS canceled Colbert's show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery," Elizabeth Warren tweeted after hearing the news. "America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons."

Still, fans of Stephen Colbert celebrated his contributions to the late-night series.

"The greatest to ever do it," one person wrote on Instagram.

"Everyone will follow you to wherever you end up," another promised. "CBS's loss."

"I am so upset about this. I need more information. We love you," Katie Couric penned.

CBS officially canceled The Late Show after 33 years.

Stephen Colbert shockingly announced the program will be coming to an end in May 2026, following the company's controversial settlement with Donald Trump for $16 million and their need for approval from the Federal Communications Commission for Paramount's merger with Skydance.

During a taping, Stephen Colbert told the studio audience at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City that the iconic show would be coming to an end next year.

"It is a fantastic job. I wish somebody else was getting it," the comedian lamented over CBS' decision, while noting that he learned the news "just last night."

While there is much controversy surrounding CBS' move, Colbert added, "I do want to say that the folks at CBS have been great partners. I'm so grateful to the Tiffany Network for giving me this chair and this beautiful theater to call home."

The 61-year-old took over the program from David Letterman in 2015. The 78-year-old had hosted the show since 1993.

CBS claimed the move was due to financial constraints.

"This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night," CBS Studios President David Stapf, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach, and CBS President and CEO George Cheeks said in a joint statement. "It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount."

The end of The Late Show comes as CBS controversially settled a $16 million lawsuit brought by Donald Trump after he accused the network of election interference for the editing of a 60 Minutes interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Despite CBS claiming politics and business relations had no influence on their decision to end the program, the company will need the approval of the commander-in-chief and his administration as their parent company, Paramount, is trying to be acquired by Skydance. The move will need the sign off by the Federal Communications Commission.

Stephen Colbert has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump and his administration.

"As someone who has always been a proud employee of this network, I'm offended and I don't know if anything will ever repair my trust in this company," the host said during an episode of The Late Show, while calling it a "big, fat bribe."

Les Misérables in Concert: The 25th Anniversary is nothing short of star-studded. With Nick Jonas as Marius, Lea Salonga as Fantine and Samantha Barks as Éponine, the cast colorfully brings Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil's epic masterpiece to life. Filmed at The O2 arena in London in 2010, the large-scale production fits perfectly in the massive space and transports you back in time to France in the 1800s. Alfie Boe (Jean Valjean) and Norm Lewis' (Javert) rendition of "The Confrontation" is an absolute highlight of the show.
4. Legally Blonde: The Musical
In 2007, MTV brought viewers inside the Palace Theater on Broadway with Legally Blonde: The Musical starring Laura Bell Bundy, Christian Borle, Orfeh and Annaleigh Ashford. With The Hills stars Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and Audrina Patridge guiding the audience through the rise of the curtain to what the cast was doing backstage during intermission, it was a millennial television experience not to be missed. The charming musical adaptation of the beloved film is nothing short of hilarious with incredibly catchy tunes. Bundy gives Reese Witherspoon a run for her money, creating an entirely different Elle Woods with whom the audience falls in love.
3. The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall
The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall is grand in every aspect. Filmed in 2011 in honor of the beloved musical's 25th anniversary, the concert adaptation directed by Harold Prince does not take any shortcuts in the special effects department despite being scaled down. Ramin Karimloo (The Phantom) and Sierra Boggess (Christine) have the perfect chemistry to differentiate this production from the thousands of other actors and actresses who have played the iconic roles.
2. Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert
John Legend produced and starred in NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert in 2018. The broadcast of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's masterpiece went on to win five Emmys. The immaculate staging — performed with a live audience on Easter Sunday in a Marcy Avenue Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn — breathes new life into the piece. Legend definitely would have had his Best Actor in a Musical Tony moment had the show had a Broadway run. Brandon Victor Dixon, meanwhile, is a standout as Judas. Eva Noblezada, Jon Briones and Alistair Brammer star in the thrilling 25th anniversary production of Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil's smash hit Miss Saigon. Filmed in London's West End in 2014, the gritty and thrilling revival takes audiences on a heartbreaking journey of orphaned bar girl Kim (Noblezada) who falls in love with an American G.I. named Chris (Brammer) in the days leading up to the fall of Saigon. The way in which the stage is shot makes you feel as if you are watching a war film with sweeping music rather than a stage production. Noblezada — in her breakout role — has audiences in the palm of her hand as we see her story unfold. Her chemistry with Brammer is electric. Briones, meanwhile, makes the unsavory character of The Engineer hilarious and at times lovable, giving the tragedy some levity at moments.

During an appearance on Real America's Voice show Bolling!, the host asked Scott Jennings, "A lot of people are floating your name to take over, to jump into Mitch McConnell's Senate seat next year in '26. You thinking about it?"

Jennings responded that while he hasn't made any public announcements, he wouldn't rule out running.

When pressed, "If Donald Trump taps you, you're gonna run?" Jennings replied, "I pay very close attention to everything the president says."

Scott Jennings brings White House experience, having served as a special assistant for former President George W. Bush.

Although involved in politics, he said, "There's three people in the race, I know them all, like them all, have been in and out of their lives in varying degrees over the years. I've supported them all in various endeavors, so I'm confident the seat will remain Republican." 

Mitch McConnell, who has held his position since 1985, announced earlier this year he will not seek re-election in 2026.

While Scott Jennings stopped short of confirming a run, he emphasized his loyalty to President Donald Trump's leadership. 

"I do think politics is a team sport, and I think Trump's the head coach. And eventually he's gonna weigh in on this, and my political advice would be to anybody, you know, if he calls a play, we're gonna have to run it. I wouldn't want to run against the president in Kentucky. So, I don't really have any announcement about it at the moment," he stated.

"I'm not privy to all of the chatter so I'm just — Kristin Davis always keeps me posted in ways that sometimes I'm like, 'You don't have to tell me that! I don't want to hear what anyone has to say,'" Parker said while discussing Carrie Bradshaw's mistakes with her costar. "Plus it doesn't help me. But I'm thrilled that people have feelings! Like, how great."

Carrie Bradshaw's love life centered around Aidan and Mr. Big, as the leading lady cheated on the former with the latter. However, Sarah Jessica Parker has a nuanced view when it comes to Carrie's choices.

"I mean, she's a fictional character. I think people make mistakes and smart people do stupid things, and they use poor judgment and they fall really short often. The best of us fall short," Parker said.

Sarah Jessica Parker later reminded the hosts that the series is fictional.

"Who is this person if she is only making really solid, predictable choices?" Parker asked, noting that the show is "not a recipe for all of us to live by. That's what makes it. It's like there's an altered state to S** and the City."

"It's not entirely, the emotional life is rooted in truth, but its existence has always felt to me like slightly technicolor, slightly altered," she continued. "Like, the city looks like this, and the clothes look like this. There's a time warp, like, time suspends and you can be with people you love for long periods of time, which does not exist for all of us, no matter how much we love our friends. And love has this sort of, like, extra dose of some kind of adrenaline-fueled … You don't spend time on HBO being perfect."

On the flip side, Sarah Jessica Parker said people aren't as critical of fictional mobster Tony Soprano, who was portrayed by James Gandolfini, from The Sopranos.

"That is not a man who made great choices.
