Shane Gillis showed no favoritism while hosting the 2025 ESPYS, as the comedian made sure to poke fun at sports' greatest icons.

Bill Belichick, 73, who is currently dating 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, was mocked by Shane Gillis for the couple's 48-year age gap.
"A bookie is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime," Gillis said during his monologue about how they two allegedly spend time together. "They read, 'Very h**** caterpillar.' 'The Little Engine That Could But Needed A Pill First' and of course, the classic, 'Good Night B****.'"

Shane Gillis used his time on stage to find the humor in conspiracy theories and even touched upon Donald Trump administration's strong stance against illegal immigration.
"Joe Rogan actually wanted me to be here to host this award show so that I could capture Adam Silver because Joe thinks he's an alien," Gillis joked about some wild rumors. "And Donald Trump wanted me to be here to capture Juan Soto for the same reason."

WNBA star Caitlin Clark, who has had a few heated exchanges during games, was also brought up.
"When Caitlin Clark retires from the WNBA, she's going to work at a Waffle House so she can continue doing what she loves most, fist fighting black women," Shane Gillis said.

Additionally, the comedian couldn't help but take a jab at Aaron Rodgers, who claimed he was immunized after the COVID-19 pandemic. The NFL star later tested positive for the infection and revealed he was unvaccinated.
"Aaron Rodgers did not take the vaccine because he predicted that it would be bad for him and then he joined the New York Jets. So maybe he wasn't right about everything," Shane Gillis joked, as the quarterback suffered a season-ending injury during his first game for the New York team.

While NFL draftee Travis Hunter snagged the coveted Heisman trophy, Shane Gillis didn't hesitate to mention 1968 winner O.J. Simpson, who was accused of killing his late wife, Nicole Simpson.
"Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy this year," Shane began. "He's the first defensive player since Charles Woodson to win the Heisman."
"Congratulations, Travis Hunter, winning the Heisman, that's something they can never take away from you," the comedian continued. "Unless you kill your wife and a waiter, in which case, they can take that away from you."
