According to the New York Post, after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, Vladimir Putin pulled back the requirements for the Kremlin to deploy its nuclear weapons. In doing so, the nation was allegedly able to launch nukes against any country that attacks them and has the backing of a nuclear power.Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova denounced the bold remarks from Putin: "At this point, it doesn't matter how we interpret what he says," she said on CBS News' Face the Nation on Sunday, May 4. "We just have to believe what he says and understand what he says. He is a threat, not only to Ukraine but also to anyone who believes that nations should live peacefully."
