Amid recent criticism over his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, particularly his lack of interest in releasing them, President Donald Trump is redirecting scrutiny toward other prominent figures. Speaking to reporters at the White House, he called on the media to investigate former President Bill Clinton and former Harvard President Lawrence Summers. "They don't talk about them, they talk about me," Trump said, in reference to Epstein coverage. "I have nothing to do with the guy."

President Donald Trump continued by alleging that Bill Clinton visited Jeffrey Epstein's island 28 times, claiming the ex-president deserves far more public criticism. "I never went to the island," the president said. Trump also suggested alternative topics for the press to cover including "how well the country is doing" and "how Barack Hussein Obama led a coup." His comment about Barack Obama followed a claim by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who said Obama promoted a "contrived narrative" that Russia helped Trump win the 2016 election.

President Donald Trump's latest remarks come as he continues to face backlash over his administration's response to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Earlier this month, the FBI stated there was no "client list" or evidence that Epstein blackmailed powerful individuals — prompting criticism from several conservative voices. Tucker Carlson publicly challenged both Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying "you're not going to shout me down" for asking "pretty reasonable questions." The Daily Wire's Matt Walsh echoed the sentiment, insisting he won't drop the issue — despite the president's call for commentators to move on.
