George Clooney may be off the market, but another extremely eligible bachelor appears to be back on. On the heels of rampantengagement speculation, Prince Harry has parted ways with scrunchie-loving girlfriend Cressida Bonas after nearly two years of togetherness, reports People mag.
"He found her too needy," says a source, "and it just wasn't working out."
Adds an Us spy of their "rocky patch," "They're off, but I don't think it's for good. ... Harry is the type to want to take breathers and then try again."
Insiders insist the split is "amicable."
But another outlet claims it was Cressida who pulled the plug due to qualms about life in the royal fishbowl. The aspiring dancer reportedly gave up her dreams of the stage for an office job when things turned serious with the ginger-haired heir.
"Harry wants to settle down and get married like his brother, Prince William," explains a snitch (via Showbiz Spy). "But Cressy is still young and had huge reservations about marrying into the royal family. They had a chat over the weekend and decided it's best they cool things off. Harry's hoping she'll change her mind."
The timing of the breakup (their second) is surprising, given that Prince Harry, 29, made his first official public appearance with the blue-blooded blonde, 24, at a charity event in early March.
But rumblings have trouble have been brewing for weeks.
"There is a growing feeling among a small section of [Harry's friends] that Cressida isn't the perfect choice for him," an insider told E! News. "There is concern that she is too much of a free spirit to be happy in the royal family long-term."
Harry, who was introduced to Bonas by his cousin, Princess Eugenie, spent Tuesday focusing on good deeds: He met with wounded veterans in London as part of his Invictus Game initiative.
And the prince won't have too much time to brood over the breakup. He's about to embark on a tour of Europe and South America, with a quick stop this weekend in Memphis for a pal's wedding.
