Calm down, you guys. Hannah Horvath isn't going anywhere just yet. In Glamour's April cover story, Lena Dunham was quoted as saying that she isn't sure if she'll stay in front of the camera forever in a quote that got immediately construed by other outlets as suggesting she was ready to bail on the acting side of her career.
"I don't know if I'm going to want to act anymore," said the 27-year-old actress, writer and director. "I'm always relieved on the days I don't have to. I'd rather give parts to other women than be the woman having the parts."
But when E! asked Dunham point blank if she was quitting acting at the Television Academy's panel on "Girls" Thursday, the show's creator gave a firm, "No!"
The site also checked in with Dunham's HBO co-stars, Allison Williams and Jemima Kirke about the possibility of their castmate bailing on the acting side of her job. While Williams gave a sweet and Marnie-esque comment about how she hopes Dunham doesn't stop acting "because she's so good," Kirke's response was equally true to her "Girls" character, Jessa. Snapped the star: "Didn't Jay Z say he was going to quit rapping awhile ago?"
