An email that appeared to have been sent to the convicted financier by Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway, describes the 2012 wedding of Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg and Stéphanie de Lannoy as lackluster._
Daily Express' Jon King reported that "sent from a redacted email address under the name HKH Kronprinsessen" to Jeffrey Epstein on October 21, 2012, the message reads: "Boring wedding. Was like some kind of old movie where you know the characters and not hanging around for much [longer]. Books more books."Epstein replied minutes later: "Weather was too bad. I returned to NY. How was your wedding."
Epstein and his partner, Ghislaine Maxwell — who is serving a 20-year sentence — spent years trafficking and grooming underage girls.

It remains unclear what effect the Epstein connection will have on Crown Princess Mette-Marit. She and her husband, Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway, were married in 2001 in Oslo and have two children together, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus.According to a Norwegian news outlet, Mette-Marit is mentioned several hundred times in the Epstein files. She also stayed in Epstein's mansion in Palm Beach, Fla., for four days in 2013.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit previously said: "I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take. I showed poor judgment, and I regret ever having any contact with [Jeffrey] Epstein. It is simply embarrassing."Mette-Marit and her husband have spent time with Prince William and Kate Middleton despite the Norwegian princess' past connection with Epstein. In 2018, Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon hosted the U.K.'s royal couple for a day of winter activities at the Holmenkollen National Ski Area in Oslo.
The Norwegian royal isn't the only one in the Epstein files. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was banned from The Firm, and King Charles III stripped him of his royal titles and evicted him from Royal Lodge due to his friendship with Epstein and accusations of sexual assault.
