"How does it make any sense to punish people who did the right thing who pad their loans off, Tucker Carlson said. "So what you're watching, as always, is class warfare. They reward the top and the bottom—people who don't need it and people who aren't trying—and crush the struggling middle, the law-abiding people who want to do the right thing."

"To pay for school, I was a bartender, lifeguard, landscaper, and drove a forklift in a warehouse. And I STILL took on student debt!! But now school costs have TRIPLED. Even working yourself to the bone can't cut it anymore. President Biden, this is critical: #CancelStudentDebt," Billy Baldwin tweeted. "Which party deserves your support in the midterms: The party that bails out billionaires? Or the party that bails out students?"

"Canceling student debt is a tax on the most responsible people in the country. Forcing people who worked hard to repay their loans or those who didn't have the luxury of going to college, to subsidize people who wasted $$$ on worthless gender study degrees is a slap in the face." –Donald Trump Jr.

"If you're fortunate enough to have already paid off your student loans or make too much money to qualify, it's still possible to be happy for people receiving some much needed relief. So many are weighed down by this debt. Let's celebrate the relief and then work toward making college affordable (or even FREE!) for everyone. It doesn't have to be this way. Other countries don't force people to be in debt for a lifetime to get an education." —John Legend

"There is disagreement about student debt forgiveness. It's a hard pill for those who scraped to repay loans. We should all agree on & work towards solving underlying cause: college's too damn expensive, why many Americans are saddled w/crazy debt. Must be more accessible to all," Ana Navarro-Cardenas tweeted. On Aug. 25, she added, "In America, if you're not born rich, very smart or athletic, you borrow away your 1st-born for a degree. 22 year-olds graduate w/$200k debt. They'll spend their lives paying it back. It wasn't always like this. We must make college affordable to all -like most 1st world nations."
