Palmer, who previously hosted a third-hour show on Good Morning America, was embraced by her former co-host Michael Strahan.
"Everyone loves when Keke is in the building," the morning show shared on Instagram alongside a video of the pair hugging.
Palmer has been working in Hollywood since she was a young girl, but she's been candid about the challenges she faced as a Black child actress.
"I wasn't necessarily in the same conversations as Victoria Justice or Selena Gomez or Miley Cyrus at that time," Palmer told The Cut when reflecting on the early stages of her career.
Palmer got her big break at the age of 12 when she was cast in Akeelah and the Bee. However, Palmer's experiences with navigating the entertainment industry differed from her peers.
"There is a loss of innocence that comes with the awareness that you're treated differently that I'd accepted a long time ago," Palmer said, noting that she often experienced being the only Black child at school and in her professional environment.
"I don't compare myself to anyone but I definitely don't compare myself to any white person," she added.
In her teens, Palmer appeared in the Nickelodeon series True Jackson VP, which impacted her life at home.
"She was making it happen for herself independently in the world," the mom-of-one said. "Growing up with that character — it bled over into how I wanted to show up, how I want to deal with life."
