According to royal journalist
Kate Mansey, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's stalling will help King Charles III avoid his brother at all costs. "As Andrew drags his feet leaving Royal Lodge, it means he won't have moved into Sandringham [Charles' estate] in time for the family Christmas celebrations there," she wrote for
The Times. "This is being seen by sources close to Charles as rather 'fortuitous,' given that Andrew isn't invited to the festivities."

To avoid further awkwardness, King Charles III should rethink the logistics of the annual family gathering. "When Andrew [Mountbatten-Windsor] does finally move into Sandringham next year, Charles might be minded to follow the tradition of his predecessor Queen Victoria and host the royal Christmas festivities at Windsor instead," Kate Mansey said.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his titles and forced out of Royal Lodge after more allegations of misconduct arose in connection to his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The 65-year-old was removed from his position as Knight of the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. Queen Elizabeth II previously took away his military and charity patronages in 2022.

The minimum notice period King Charles III could provide Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is 12 months before officially being kicked out. "Andrew rarely goes out and has been padding around the lodge and ranting and muttering," a source told
The Sun of the situation.

Despite divorcing in 1996, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor continued to reside at Royal Lodge with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who also lost everything over her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. "They are both spending a lot of time alone," the source said. "Andrew and Sarah are leading separate lives — at different ends and on different wings. But they come together quite often for lunch and dinner, and this is where they talk about their futures."
