Beatrice Keul alleged Jeffrey Epstein boasted about his relationship with Prince Andrew six years before the Duke of York said they first met. "He kept saying he had very rich and powerful friends and knew the royal family. And then I said, 'The royal family?' And he said 'Prince Andrew,'" she recalled. "He said he could facilitate the contact. I was shocked because he wasn't the kind of guy that you'd think would be in the royal family's society."

Prince Andrew was reportedly introduced to Jeffrey Epstein through
Ghislaine Maxwell. The 65-year-old initially
claimed he met the businessman in the "early 1990s." Andrew later said he met Epstein in 1999.
