According to royal expert
Jasmine Carey,
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be thrilled by
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's downfall, as it takes the negative attention away from them. "Harry and Meghan won't be coming at the top of the most popular royal polls, the Andrew saga has almost softened the blow they have faced since walking away from The Firm almost six years ago," she wrote for the
Daily Express. "Will this continue when and if, the Andrew drama ever ceases to go away? Only time will tell."

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was stripped of his royal titles over his former friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and new abuse allegations against him. The former Duke of York also lost his Knight of the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order honors. Queen Elizabeth II previously removed his military and charity patronages in 2022. Additionally, Andrew has been ordered to vacate Royal Lodge, his home of more than two decades.

King Charles III shared insight into his decision to take away Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's honors: "These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that [Andrew] continues to deny the allegations against him," the monarch said in a statement. "Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been and will remain with the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."

In the fallout of the Andrew Mountbatten Windsor drama, Meghan Markle reportedly wants
Prince Harry to keep his distance from his cousins, the former Duke of York's daughters
Princesses Beatrice and
Princess Eugenie. "From Meghan's point of view, it's probably a commercial thing, from Harry's point of view, it's probably more of an emotional thing," a source told
