Prince Harry left Buckingham Palace to scramble minutes before a candid interview hit the airwaves. According to a royal expert, the firm was unaware that the Duke of Sussex was going to speak publicly about the royal family rift with the BBC until right before his interview went live.

According to royal
expert Robert Hardman, the palace was not informed that
Prince Harry would be candidly speaking about his strained relationships with his father,
King Charles III, and his brother,
Prince William, during the sit-down. The journalist claimed the move caused the firm "considerable irritation" when they found out about the bombshell interview "minutes before broadcast." Said Hardman, "As the Duke of Sussex might say, it felt like a bit of a stitch-up."

In the shocking
interview,
Prince Harry said he "would love a reconciliation" with King Charles III,
Prince William and the rest of the royal family. "There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family. I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious," he said, though he also admitted he couldn't "see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point."

After the British government took away
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's publicly funded security clearance, the divide between the family's feuding factions deepened. The Duke of Sussex — who's gone to court to fight for his security to be reinstated — claimed King Charles III "won't speak" to him "because of this security stuff." In response to Harry's statements, Buckingham Palace issued a message reading, "All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion."
