Members of the royal family typically are given traditionally British or Scottish names, but Princess Beatrice decided to honor
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's Italian heritage by naming their firstborn Sienna.
"They (Beatrice and Edoardo) were looking for an Italian name which started with an S for Sarah, to honour the Duchess [
Sarah Ferguson], and also reflected the golden rust colour of both the Duchess' hair color and Beatrice's, which the new baby shares," a source told

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were able to honor Queen Elizabeth II with their youngest child, Athena Elizabeth Rose.

Sarah Ferguson carried on the custom of repurposing family names when she named her two kids, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as their titles pay homage to Queen Victoria.
Beatrice was Victoria's daughter's title, while Eugenie's full name is Eugenie Victoria Helena — a nod to the late queen.
