According to journalist Tom Sykes, the public's lack of "curiosity" about Meghan Markle and her life with Prince Harry may be the reason for the lackluster ratings."The royalist understands the show is languishing somewhere in the mid-to-late 30s, a very disappointing performance given the publicity blitz, lavish spending and Meghan's own boasts about commanding a crew of 80," he wrote, before claiming the Suits star's recent Instagram post featuring her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, was to "distract from incoming bad news."

With the viewership at an all-time low, many have wondered if Meghan Markle's series will be back for a third installment."People who worked on the show don't think it will be picked up for another season," a source claimed. "It's not doing well, or what the network would have hoped it would do. It's not the success they wanted it to be."

Netflix gave Meghan Markle and Prince Harry a dose of reality when their original multi-million-dollar agreement extended into a first-look deal, allegedly worth a lot less."They have shot the golden goose of 2020 — more of a 'we'll call you' than 'here's the checkbook.' It's a first-look deal, which means Netflix gets first dibs but no obligation to bankroll every semi-royal whim," publicist Mark Borkowski claimed. "I reckon Netflix is trimming fat industry-wide, so this is less carte blanche, more curated cameo. They're still in business together – Meghan's As Ever brand and seasonal specials keep them in the Netflix shop window, but make no mistake, this is a slimmed-down sequel to the blockbuster original. So, Harry and Meghan's new Netflix chapter [is] less champagne budget, more prosecco by the glass."
