A rumor popped up alleging that
Prince William threatened to strip Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice of their royal titles if they didn't pressure Prince Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge, his home of more than two decades. According to
The Mirror, Kensington Palace insisted the future king never met with his cousins to discuss their father's living arrangements. The palace also noted that it would not be possible constitutionally for the Prince of Wales to strip the princesses of their titles.

The rumors kicked off after BBC journalist
Emily Maitlis claimed
Prince William was laying down the law with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice over Prince Andrew. "There was a question over whether there had been, earlier in the day, a meeting between
Prince William and the princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie, saying, 'You guys have to get your dad to move out of Royal Lodge, otherwise we will start re-examining the state of your own titles,'" she
alleged.

Emily Maitlis noted how the alleged threat from
Prince William to revoke Princess Eugenie's and Princess Beatrice's titles could be effective in getting Prince Andrew to move. "They are at the moment allowed to be princesses, but there was a bit of pressure, we understand, being put on the princesses to say this is going to happen. Obviously, you can see why Andrew, as a father, would want to keep their daughters happy and keep their titles in place come what may," she said.

The Firm is reportedly deciding where Prince Andrew and his ex-wife,
Sarah Ferguson, should live if they are forced out of Royal Lodge after losing their titles over their connections to the late predator
Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew reportedly wants to move into Frogmore Cottage, where
Prince Harry and
Meghan Markle previously lived. The former Duchess of York, meanwhile, has reportedly shown interest in
Prince William and
Kate Middleton's current house, Adelaide Cottage, which the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to vacate before the end of the year. "No one is really sure how it's going to go down at the palace yet," a source told
The Sun. "Andrew is willing to leave, but these are his demands."

Despite being put in an awkward situation with their parents, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are expected to be included in events with their extended family. "They will remain princesses and be welcome at events with the rest of the royal family, such as Christmas at Sandringham," royal correspondent Jennie Bond said.
