For decades, Pamela Anderson was known for her glamorous, bombshell approach to beauty. Since her days as a Playboy Playmate and "Baywatch" star in the '90s, the actress, model and animal rights activist was synonymous with big, blonde hair and a full face of makeup — thin eyebrows, smoky eyes and a pouty lip.
But more recently, the 56-year-old mother of two has been embracing a new look: little to no makeup.
Early in her career, she didn't have much say in her beauty choices, Pamela told ELLE in an August 2023 interview. "I just went along with what people were telling me what to do," she said.
After her makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, died from breast cancer in 2019, Pamela stepped away from what had become her signature ultra-glam look. "She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it's just better for me not to wear makeup," Pamela told ELLE.
Her new barely-there makeup look has been "freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too," she added, "because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it's just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite [of] what everyone's doing."
Pam has also found humor in it. "I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older," she said. "And I'm kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, 'Wow, this is really… what's happening to me?' It's a journey."
But one she's embracing. "I feel rooted for. I feel good," she said. "I'm in a good place."
