Though Stephen Colbert will continue to film the last season of
The Late Show, Bill O'Reilly predicted the show will end earlier than planned.
"[Colbert's] done. He's through," O'Reilly said on his
YouTube channel. "They say his show will be on till May. It won't. … What sunk him was not just his vitriolic approach to Trump. He censored his program. You could not get on his program unless you hated Trump."

Stephen Colbert typically criticizes Donald Trump and his MAGA base, but conservative commentator Bill O'Reilly surprisingly appeared on The Late Show.
"I did actually appear with Colbert way, way back one time," O'Reilly shared. "But Colbert would never invite anybody who didn't hate Trump."
"[Jane] Pauley [TV host] wouldn't put us on, and I emailed her directly," O'Reilly said. "Didn't even consider it."

Rumors spread about what caused CBS to make the move since Stephen Colbert previously criticized parent company Paramount's settlement with Donald Trump.
"This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night," CBS Studios President David Stapf, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach, and CBS President and CEO George Cheeks said in a statement. "It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount."

Stephen Colbert shared the news with a live studio audience, who were audibly disappointed.
"Yeah, I share your feelings," Colber admitted to the crowd, as they yelled "no." "It's not just the end of our show, but it's the end of The Late Show on CBS. I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away."
