"She's either tragically uninformed or lying," Nicolle Wallace said of Karoline Leavitt during the Tuesday, March 11, broadcast of her show Deadline: White House."There is no economist that's been tapped to sit in Donald Trump's cabinet who would testify under oath to what she just said: 'Tariffs are a tax cut for the American people.' Simply the opposite is the reality," the host explained of the Donald Trump employee.

During the heated exchange, Karoline Leavitt scolded Josh Boak when he pressed her on Donald Trump's continuous need to raise tariffs."He's actually not implementing tax hikes," Leavitt said. "Tariffs are a tax hike on foreign countries that, again, have been ripping us off. Tariffs are a tax cut for the American people and the president is a staunch advocate of tax cuts. As you know, he campaigned on no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, no taxes on Social Security benefits. He is committed to all three of those things and he expects Congress to pass them later this year."

When Josh Boak asked Karoline Leavitt if she ever paid a tariff, he pointed out how "they don't get charged on foreign companies.""They get charged on the importers," he noted.
Fired back Leavitt, "Ultimately, when we have fair and balanced trade — which the American people have not seen in decades — as I said at the beginning revenues will stay here, wages will go up, and our country will be made wealthy again."

Karoline Leavitt then accused Josh Boak of making her seem uninformed with his question: "It's insulting that you're trying to test my knowledge of economics and the decisions that this president has made. I'm now regretting giving a question to the Associated Press," she said. This is not the first time Leavitt has feuded with journalists. After former CNN anchor Jim Acosta mocked her credentials, the New Hampshire native had no problem clapping back.

In response to Jim Acosta, Karoline Leavitt said during an interview with Mercedes Schlapp, "Since you brought up Jim Acosta: He's been saying some not-so-nice things about me online, and I've resisted responding. But since you brought him up, I'd like to say: Jim, at least I have a job, Jim. OK? Just saying."During an interview earlier this year, the left-leaning reporter compared Leavitt to a child who continues to tell a lie.
