There's a long history of
Prince Harry making moves to seemingly distract the public from
Prince William's work with the Earthshot Awards. When the future king attended the Earthshot Awards in Cape Town in 2024, for example, his younger brother showed up at the Pat Tillman Foundation's 20th annual Tillman Honors gala in Chicago. During the Prince of Wales' annual
appearance at the ceremony in Singapore in 2023, the
Spare author made a speech at the Stand Up for Heroes event in New York City. When William and
Kate Middleton visited Boston for the event in 2022, Harry and
Meghan Markle dropped the trailer for their Netflix docuseries
Harry & Meghan.

Social media users picked up on
Prince Harry's apparent scheduling issues. "Funny how Harry's 'announcements' ALWAYS coincide with Earthshot Awards," one person wrote on X. "Very predictable like clockwork," a second person said. "Why is Harry doing this?" a third questioned.

During his visit to Canada,
Prince Harry will attend a lunch with the military charity True Patriot Love Foundation and a private fundraising gathering with the Halo Trust — both on the same day as the Earthshot Prize Awards. A
representative for the father of two claimed the trip was "almost a year in the planning" but was only recently announced for security reasons.

Prince Harry competing for headlines for their trips abroad come as the two remain estranged. "Their relationship is at an all-time low,"
a source claimed. "It's as if something has pushed William even further away from the prospect of a reconciliation. He is adamant that he wants nothing to do with his brother. He is more upset with him than ever."
