'The View' Host Apologizes After 'Heated' Immigration Debate 

Things got heated between The View co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Whoopi Goldberg, as the panelists chatted about Donald Trump's immigration plans.

Throughout his campaign, Trump promised to increase border protection and reduce the number of people entering the U.S. illegally.
"This is what people voted for," Griffin told her coworkers.
However, Hostin noted that ICE is "not really going into Canada and looking for those Canadian people that are jumping back and forth." 

Griffin quickly shut down Hostin's comments, as there are fewer undocumented migrants in the U.S. from Canada.
"This is a misnomer, it's not Canadians that come across the northern border," Griffin stated. "The northern border crisis — no."
Before finishing her sentence, Hostin cut in, declaring, "It's people coming from other parts of the world!"

Goldberg later claimed Trump "threatening people" decreased the number of asylum seekers entering the U.S.
Griffin quickly pointed out "the same way Kamala Harris said, 'Do not come.'"

Griffin's correction made the Oscar winner visibly upset.
"Just let me finish now this time," the Ghost star sternly said.

Due to the tension in the room, Goldberg explained to viewers that the team was "feeling passionate" about the topic.
Griffin, who previously worked for the Trump administration, was vocal about her opinions.

Due to The View's format, they're forced to discuss the news within a short period of time.
"We only have, in all, 37 minutes, to get everything out," Goldberg told the live audience.
She later asked if "folks had more to say," to which Hostin replied, "I don't."

Griffin later acknowledged her behavior during the episode.
"I know it gets heated and I don't mean to step on people when I do that," she told Goldberg. "I'm working on interrupting."
