President Donald Trump has been issuing executive orders since his inauguration on Monday, January 20, but his commitment to ending diversity, equity and inclusion programs — also known as DEI — isn't sitting well with some cast members of The View.
Aside from divesting from egalitarian-focused initiatives within the federal government, Trump rolled back Lyndon B. Johnson's Equal Employment Opportunity Act, which sought to end workplace discrimination.

Ana Navarro, who previously worked with Jeb Bush and John McCain, voiced her concerns about Trump's vision for the future.
"I think by getting rid of this and doing it in such a bold way on day one, what he is doing is giving a green light to people who are racist, to people who are homophobic," Navarro said.
"To people who are anti-women and think they should be in the kitchen and telling them there is no consequence to your racism," Navarro added.
Sunny Hostin believes the politician's decision will cause significant damage to minorities.
"I think it's a war on people of color, and what we are going to see is a lot of pain, but especially to those communities that need those jobs," Hostin shared.

While Navarro and Hostin pondered over the effects of losing DEI offices, Sara Haines branded them "a bureaucracy of money suck."
The former Good Morning America anchor later claimed that the real estate tycoon viewed the sector as ineffective.
However, Hostin noted that Trump's orders are "also eliminating the protections for discrimination in awarding government contracts."
While Haines sided with Trump, Hostin continued to push back on her argument.
"The stats show that they're very effective," the former prosecutor rebutted.
Hostin later branded Trump a "DEI hire," as he would be considered a legacy candidate who's "given everything."

Trump wants to promote "merit-based" employment instead of extending resources to disenfranchised people.
Trump said his actions will ensure "hiring, promotions, and performance reviews will reward individual initiative, skills, performance, and hard work and not, under any circumstances, DEI-related factors, goals, policies, mandates, or requirements."
