Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday, May 18, to share his condolences with Joe Biden, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer."Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis," he wrote. "We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery."

The Daily Show host Jon Stewart couldn't help but question the sincerity of Donald Trump's comments about Joe Biden's diagnosis."The fact that Trump responded to Biden's diagnosis with the most pro-forma, bare minimum, ChatGPT statement, was so astonishing, even the corrupt 'lamestream media' gave Trump his props," Stewart began.

While many journalists applauded Donald Trump's benign statement about Joe Biden's cancer diagnosis, Jon Stewart noted how simple it was."What he did was not noteworthy and important. Has any president — has any person, ever, had a lower bar to clear?" Stewart asked.
"'I have to salute the president. I certainly disagree with him on many things, but I have to applaud that after hearing this devastating news about Joe Biden, that Donald did not take cancer's side,'" he continued.

Jon Stewart went on to question if Donald Trump event wrote his own statement about Joe Biden's cancer diagnosis."That's it? No exclamation points? No all caps? No insults? Whole thing's spelled correctly? It's really got all the telltale signs of a post definitely written by Donald Trump," he joked. "I look at this post, I wonder when they saw this post, if Truth Social sent him a security alert. They just sent him a quick message: 'We noticed some suspicious humanity on your account. If this was in fact you, President Trump, please reply, Nancy Pelosi's husband is gay.'"

Despite the benign nature of Donald Trump's first comments about Joe Biden's health battle, the president quickly changed his tune during a press conference."I'm surprised that the public wasn't notified a long time ago because to get to stage 9, that's a long time," Trump told reporters, seemingly confusing Biden's stage 4 cancer with his Gleason score of 9. (Gleason scores typically range from 6 to 10.)
"I think that if you take a look, it's the same doctor that said that Joe was cognitively fine," Trump continued. "And that's being proven to be a sad situation."

Joe Biden revealed his diagnosis on Sunday, May 18. In an initial statement, he implied that he learned about his condition a week earlier."Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone," the statement read.
