Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared that Archewell Foundation will now be known as Archewell Philanthropies.
"This next chapter allows
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to broaden their global philanthropic efforts as a family, with meaningful reach and maximum impact, grounded in the same values, partnerships, and their commitment to show up and do good," a spokesperson said.

On Archewell's website, the nonprofit credited the change to
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanting to include their two kids,
Prince Archie and
Princess Lilibet, in their charity work.
"After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation is becoming Archewell Philanthropies. This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavors as a family," the couple's website reads.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first launched Archewell after they left the royal fold.
At the time, the Sussexes told
The Telegraph they wanted "to do something of meaning, to do something that matters."

"Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of 'Arche' — the Greek word meaning 'source of action.' We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son's name,"
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stated at the time.
