According to NBC News, Noem's handbag, which had about $3,000 in cash in it, was snatched at Capital Burger while the Secret Service was nearby."Her entire family was in town, including her children and grandchildren — she was using the withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts," the spokesperson said following her April 20 dinner.
Aside from the luxury bag being taken, the Department of Homeland Security rep said the thief now has Noem's driver's license, passport, DHS badge, makeup, checks, bank card, healthcare card, medication and apartment keys.

X users rushed to social media to react to Kristi Noem losing her purse on Easter."Kristi Noem, the person in charge of our national security, was robbed in a restaurant while she had her security detail with her," someone wrote. "Got it."
"Serious question. @KristiNoem was pictured with a Rolex in El Salvador, and got 3k in cash stolen," another speculated. "She has been on a govt salary for years. Something ain't right."
