The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is in hot water over its social media activity.After Donald Trump decided to join Israel in bombing Iran, the West Coast police force's X account shared and later deleted an update sending their condolences to those affected by the military action.

On Sunday, June 22, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department shared their condolences with the "victims" of the bombings on X: "Our hearts go out to the victims and families impacted by the recent bombings in Iran," the message read. "While this tragic event happened overseas, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is closely monitoring the situation alongside our local, state and federal partners."The department later deleted the remark about the airstrikes and then scrapped the entire post.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department took intense heat for the social media update."We sincerely hope your account was hacked," a reply from the Stop Antisemitism account read. "There were no victims in last night's successful targeting of Iran's nuclear sites. Please verify this post was not posted by an employee of the LA County Sheriff's HQ."
"The official, verified LA County Sheriff's Dept posted, then edited, then deleted this eyebrow raising post appearing to express condolences for the 'tragic' U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear sites," Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin wrote on X. "Have to imagine someone went rogue here w/ an unapproved post. What a PR disaster."
According to Fox News Digital, a sheriff's department representative claimed they were unaware of the post.

In response, Iran's top diplomat, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, stated in a post shared to X that the U.S. "will have everlasting consequences" and that Tehran "reserves all options" to fight back.
