Zohran Mamdani's progressive vision of New York City.
During a Wednesday, June 25, appearance on
Fox & Friends, the current mayor of Manhattan slammed his potential successor — who clinched victory in the Tuesday, June 24, primary over
Andrew Cuomo — and claimed he wouldn't deliver on his promises to tax the rich to make life more affordable for residents.

After Zohran Mamdani secured victory in the mayoral primary, Eric Adams — who will be running as an independent in the upcoming election — called the 33-year-old a "snake oil salesman" for some his proposals, which include vowing to freeze rents for regulated apartments, increasing taxes for wealthy residents and subsidizing free buses and childcare.
"He was saying anything to get elected," the former police officer said of Mamdani. "Think about this for a moment — [Mamdani] wants to raise taxes on the 1% of New Yorkers' high incomes. [But] as the mayor you don't have the ability to do that. He doesn't understand the power of government and how you must be making sure you're improving your economy [and] raising the standard of living."

Zohran Mamdani's big win over Andrew Cuomo stunned the Democratic establishment as the party struggles to find a sufficient leader who can actually address the needs of American citizens.
"I think there's a question of how we return back to what made so many of us proud to be Democrats," the mayoral hopeful — who is a self-described Democratic Socialist — explained in a recent
interview. "I think it's that focus on an economic agenda, on ensuring that people can do more than just struggle."
