During the Thursday, June 5, episode of Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast, the political strategist encouraged Donald Trump to look into deporting Elon Musk — who is from South Africa — after the former Department of Government Efficiency specialist went on a social media tirade about the president."They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status, because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien and he should be deported from the country immediately," Bannon said.
The former investment banker also proposed Trump take over the entrepreneur's Space X company via the Defense Production Act — which hands the president the authority to make private companies accept and prioritize government contracts for the manufacture of goods needed for national defense.
"The action that President Trump should be taking immediately, I think, is when [Musk] threatens to take one of the big programs out of Space X, President Trump tonight should sign an executive order calling for the Defense Production Act to be called in on SpaceX and seize SpaceX tonight, before midnight," Bannon noted.

Steve Bannon claimed Elon Musk used Donald Trump to his own advantage during his 130 days working for the government."As soon as [Musk] didn't think he ran the deal or got the adoration, he turned on President Trump. He turned on MAGA. But most importantly, he turned on the country and the American people," he said.
The conservative pundit also claimed the entrepreneur will likely try to help democrats now that he's fallen out with The Apprentice star.
"If those progressives rub up on him and say, 'Hey, they're never going to buy the Teslas, we're going to buy the Teslas,' he'll write a $500 million check for [House Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries. He'll be looking to impeach President Trump, looking to help steal the election, looking to imprison President Trump. So here's my point — let's get ahead of it," Bannon added.

After weeks of rumors swirling about a rift between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, the 53-year-old took to X on Thursday to slam the commander-in-chief."Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate. Such ingratitude," he wrote in one update.
Musk then went on to bring up Trump's alleged ties to late registered s** offender and accused trafficker Jeffrey Epstein: "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files," he claimed. "That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
Before the social media rampage, the former government worker criticized Trump's support for the "Big, Beautiful" tax bill.
"I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore," Musk penned in an X update on Tuesday, June 3. "This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."
"Congress is making America bankrupt," he continued. "In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people."

Later on Thursday, June 5, Donald Trump addressed the rift between Elon Musk and himself during a press briefing in the Oval Office. "I'm very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here — better than you people. He knew everything about it. He had no problem with it," the right-winger said. "All of a sudden, he had a problem. And he only developed the problem when he found out that we're going to have to cut the EV mandate.""Elon and I had a great relationship," Trump added. "I don't know if we will anymore."
