White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller slammed the U.S. Court of International Trade for deciding against his boss, Donald Trump."The judicial coup is out of control," Miller said.

Federal judges have prevented various aspects of Donald Trump's legislation from progressing: Many of his executive orders have been blocked.In response, members of the president's team have criticized the judicial system for how it responds to the executive branch.
"It is not for unelected judges to decide how to properly address a national emergency," White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai wrote in a statement.

Donald Trump's tariffs have been widely criticized by economists, but his team continues to defend them."Foreign countries' nonreciprocal treatment of the United States has fueled America's historic and persistent trade deficits," Kush Desai claimed.
"These deficits have created a national emergency that has decimated American communities, left our workers behind, and weakened our defense industrial base — facts that the court did not dispute," he continued.

The U.S. Court of International Trade ruling gives Donald Trump 10 days to make changes to his proposed tariffs.One of the tariffs being re-evaluated is the 10% baseline rate applied to goods coming from most of the United States' trade partners.

Economists from Goldman Sachs shared how the court's stance will impact Donald Trump's plans."This ruling represents a setback for the administration's tariff plans and increases uncertainty but might not change the final outcome for most major U.S. trading partners," the economists wrote.
"For now, we expect the Trump administration will find other ways to impose tariffs," they added.

Senator Amy Klobuchar celebrated judges' reaction to Donald Trump's divisive policies."Three judges — appointed by Presidents Trump, Obama, and Reagan — are restoring sanity and stability to our trade policies," Klobuchar wrote on X.
"Instead of raising costs by nearly $3,000 per family, we should be working to bring relief to the American people who have faced higher costs and chaos," she continued.
