During a Monday, March 31, meeting with the press in the Oval Office alongside pal Kid Rock, Donald Trump stated he would love to run against Barack Obama if the constitution is amended to allow the two of them a third term."I'd love that — that would, that would be a good one," he said of the idea, according to the New York Post. "I know people are asking me to run. And this whole story about running for a third term, I don't know. I never looked into it. They do say there's a way you can do it, but I don't know about that. But I have not looked into it. I want to do a fantastic job. We have four years."

While Donald Trump seems to see Barack Obama as a worthy opponent, the Democratic leader doesn't think of his Republican counterpart as fondly."I'm sorry, gentlemen, I've noticed this especially with some men who seem to think some of Trump's behavior — the bullying and the putting people down — is a sign of strength. And I am here to tell you: That is not what real strength is. It never has been," Obama said during an October 2024 campaign rally for former Vice President Kamala Harris — who lost to Trump.

While Donald Trump seemed to brush off the idea of figuring out how to run again in 2028, on Sunday, March 30, the former star of The Apprentice claimed there are "methods" to becoming the president for a third time.When a reporter asked him about a possible scenario in which his vice president, J.D. Vance, would run, win and then pass the power to Trump, he told NBC News, "That's one. But there are others, too."

Former White House strategist Steve Bannon seems to think Donald Trump is more eager to make a third term happen than he lets on."I'm a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again in 2028, so I've already endorsed President Trump," the former investment banker explained during a recent interview with Chris Cuomo. "A man like this comes along once every century if we're lucky. We've got him now. He's on fire and I'm a huge supporter. I want to see him again in 2028."
