John Mayer has hit a few potholes on the bumpy road to love, but it hasn't soured him on the idea of one day settling down. Turns out he's already mulling over what his future missus will and won't let him get away with in bed.

No, not like that.

"I wonder if when I have a wife, I'll be allowed to climb into bed with cereal and milk," he Twittered on Thursday, a deep-ish thought that comes a little more than a year after he revealed to Best Life magazine, "I think about my wife all the time. I kind of obsess on it."

Coincidentally (or not), the crooner's Cocoa Puffs-based pondering comes amid some other speculation about his bedtime habits. The New York Post reports a budding popster named Jessie James (no, we've never heard of her, either) appeared on a radio show a few days back and shared the story of what happened when she gave Mayer her number after hanging out at his New York City pad.

"He texted me throughout the entire night," recalled James, who claims one of his messages included the cringingly clunky pick-up line, "Let me tuck you in."

But a pal of the musician scoffs to the paper, "He met her two years ago, it was not a big deal."

Still, Mayer might want to consider carrying around an iron-clad confidentiality agreement, because he's been the object of much blabbiness in recent weeks thanks to fame-craving cocktail waitress Scheana Marie, who now claims to Heat magazine (via the London Daily Mail) that the singer was "devastated" by his second bust-up with Jennifer Aniston and has been "playing the guitar alone a night, pining over her."

Anyhoo, Aniston doesn't seem to be pining for anything right now except maybe experiencing what it's like to disappear into a crowd.

"Would I love a level of anonymity?" she asks USA Today while stumping for her upcoming flick, "Management." "Sure, there are times I'd love to take a moment. But that's lonely."

And the last thing anyone wants is for Jen to be lonely, which might explain why Bette Midler is offering her unsolicited dating advice.

"She needs an exciting guy, like a race-car driver," Bette tells People magazine. "I think she needs somebody who cherishes her, but also somebody who's going to give her a run for her money."

The Divine Miss M has evidently spent many long hours ruminating on Aniston's Mr. Right, because she adds that he should be "somebody who is really hot, who's not in show business. Somebody with a lot of money, and she should live the large life and forget about these a--holes. She's a great girl. She's got everything going for her."
