Not everyone is shouting "mazel tov" at Elizabeth Hurley over her weekend engagement to yam-hued Australian cricket player Shane Warne. "A lot of us are very surprised, and a bit concerned for Liz," a source tells the London Daily Mail. "What started out as a fling has become something far more. They seem to have got caught up in the moment."
The problem, according to the insider, is the pair's contrasting backgrounds: "However much chemistry there is between Shane and Liz, they are from very different worlds. She is very much part of upper-crust society, and he is a Jack-the-lad Aussie."
Warne, 46, who went public with Hurley, 41, late last year as her marriage to Arun Nayar crashed and burned (their divorce was finalized in June), popped the question with a sapphire-and-diamond ring said to be worth $75,000-plus. However, he denies reports that the big moment took place with an audience watching.
"I didn't propose in front of 200 people at dinner," he tweeted on Sunday. "It was done privately and was very romantic - if I say so myself." Warne then added, "Ps left knee is sore !!!"
