Not only did Diane decide to become a single mom, but also, she chose to do so just before she turned 50! "I've had such an unusual life. Obviously career-oriented. I was happy to be a daughter well into my 40s. That was something that meant a lot to me," she told Ladies' Home Journal in 2008. "I didn't think that I was ever going to be prepared to be a mother." But she finally decided to go for it in 1996, when she adopted daughter Dexter, and again in 2001, when she added son Duke to the family.
