On the film being more about her and Cherie Currie's relationship:
"That's really what it is. I think, initially it was mischaracterized, because at first it was called a 'biopic,' which implies that it's going to be a literal reading of the action. But to me, it's more of a parallel narrative of The Runaways. It's based on Cherie's book, so it definitely comes from her perspective and focuses more on probably the two of us and Kim [Fowley, their manager]."
