On Jan. 2, 2009, while John and his family were at their vacation home in the Bahamas, his son Jett died from a seizure (he had suffered from a seizure disorder most of his life). To add to the tragedy, a paramedic tried to extort $25 million from the Travolta family by threatening to release information that would allegedly blame John for his son's death. John's attorney helped foil the plot by wearing a hidden microphone while the extortionist admitted to the illegal scheme. In November of 2009, John appeared on "Ellen" (pictured) with his daughter, Ella Bleu. In his first interview since his son's death, he thanked the world for the love and support and generally came across as a very cool dad.
