5. She changed her name in honor of Oscar Wilde
The "House, M.D." alum, whose parents are both journalists, was born Olivia Jane Cockburn. But she changed her last name to Wilde as a nod to Irish playwright and poet Oscar Wilde after playing Gwendolen in his most famous work, "The Importance of Being Earnest," in high school. The name change honored not just the long tradition of writers in Olivia's family but also her Irish heritage -- Olivia's father was born in Ireland, she studied acting at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, and she currently holds dual citizenship in Ireland and the U.S.
