As Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher revel in domestic bliss on their sun-and-surf-filled honeymoon in Tahiti, details of their July 10 wedding are being splashed across the pages of People magazine. For the ceremony, which was held before 250 friends and family at the Ritz-Carlton's swanky Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., the bride donned a Chantilly lace and silk organza Monique Lhuillier gown, which she swapped for a Lhuillier cocktail dress at the reception.
"The wedding dress was huge," marvels the newly minted Mrs. Carrie Fisher (insert Princess Leia joke here). "I wanted to get my boogie on, so I had to change."
And just as Underwood promised several months back, her beloved pooch Ace was part of the vow-swap. The tiny tail-wagger strutted down the aisle in a Swarovski crystal-studded pink tuxedo, which matched the decorations. "Mike was like, 'There's pink everywhere,'" laughs the doll-faced country blonde. "There was pink lighting and pink things hanging from the ceiling, flower balls and ribbon and sparkles."
Other "I do" tidbits: Carrie sported a 40-carat-plus diamond tiara, which was a wedding gift from her NHL hubby; seating assignments were on hockey pucks; and in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, guests munched on a cupcake tower.
"[Carrie] looked stunning," gushes Fisher. "I was thanking God for her, for that moment. It's something I'll never forget."
