When a fire broke out in the business tycoon's Caribbean home, it almost took an Oscar winner -- and her family! -- with it. Kate Winslet, her children, Mia and Joe, and then-boyfriend Louis Dowler were vacationing at Branson's eight-bedroom house on Necker, his private island in the British Virgin Islands, with 16 other guests, when lightning struck the house as Tropical Storm Irene passed over the island. The actress was jolted awake to screams of "Fire!" around 4:30 in the morning on Aug. 22, 2011. After gathering her family, Kate helped carry Branson's mother, Eve, down a flight of slippery stairs, all while being pelted by gusts of rain. Despite the downpour, the fire completely destroyed the $70 million home.
