Katherine Heigl 'Wouldn't Recommend' Raising Two Kids and Seven Dogs Simultaneously
As it turns out, having seven dogs and two babies makes for a hectic home life. "Yeah, I wouldn't recommend that," jokes Katherine Heigl, who, in addition to her two young daughters, has adopted a slew of pooches since discovering that Los Angeles has a serious pet overpopulation problem. "I really love these dogs, but it's a lot with two little kids."
The 32-year-old actress recently launched a line of pet products with her mom called Just One, which raises money to help spay and neuter animals to reduce euthanasia at shelters. "[My mother and I] just felt that we had gotten so much from our pets over the years, how much loyalty and love," Heigl explains. "They're kind of like my best friends, and I just thought we need to do something to help all of their kind. That was the impetus for Just One." In addition to daughters Naleigh, 4, and baby Adalaide, Heigl and her husband, Josh, are parents to schnauzers Romeo, Stella and Wheezer; shepherd mixes Tamber and Flora; a resuce pup named Piper and one hound, Oscar.
