GLAAD Slams Kirk Cameron and Anti-Gay Marriage Group as 'Irrelevant'
A new video by the National Organization for Marriage pats Kirk Cameron on the back for speaking out against same-sex "I dos," and GLAAD is furious. "If we want a great future in this world, we have to take God at his word," says Cameron in the video. "... And God makes it really clear that society and civilization is really held together by the glue of families." Dubbed "the champion of marriage" by NOW, Cameron goes on to imply that only a married man and woman can raise children in a "house full of faith." In retaliation, GLAAD President Herndon Graddick released a statement this week. "Kirk Cameron and the anti-gay activists at NOM are making a claim that Americans know to be false," he said. "Their implication that LGBT couples can't create loving and stable homes is not only outdated and irrelevant; it's designed specifically to hurt those families." (E)
