Dom DeLuise, May 4, age 75: The comedic DeLuise is probably best known for his roles in Mel Brooks films, including "The Twelve Chairs," "Blazing Saddles" and "Silent Movie," as well as his popular stand-up act. He was also an accomplished chef and published two cookbooks as well as children's books. Brooks once said that when DeLuise was in one of his films, he would have to schedule extra shooting time because DeLuise would constantly crack up his fellow actors on set. "I'm actually a thin, serious person," he once said, tongue in cheek, "but I play fat and funny -- but only for the movies."
