A Mini Cooper doesn't seem like the most comfortable choice for a romantic rendezvous, but that cramped space was one of the places Kristen Stewart was clandestinely photographed making out with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders, a married father of two.
When the affair hit the cover of Us Weekly in July, the actress went into immediate damage-control mode to salvage her three-year relationship with "Twilight" leading man Robert Pattinson (and perhaps keep from being torn limb from limb by rabid Twi-Hards).
"This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most," she entreated. "Rob. I love him. I love him. I'm so sorry."
The "heartbroken" actor escaped to Reese Witherspoon's vacation home during the worst of the fling firestorm, while the starlet moved out of the Los Angeles house they shared.
Conveniently enough, reconciliation whispers began just as the massive "Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" publicity campaign got rolling. By October, they were back together and working on their "trust issues," although some self-appointed body language experts speculated that Pattinson was more into the reunion than Stewart.
"I’m going to let people watch whatever little movie they think our lives are," Stewart said in November. "Keep 'em guessing, I always say."
