To be honest, I didn't know which stage of development the house was going to be in. We were literally from scratch. So I [worked] the power drills. I was doing things I never thought I'd do. I thought that I'd come there and maybe paint. It was really hands-on labor, and it was an amazing experience. To really be working alongside with these families who, just to see the pride in them, that they are finally going to have a place that they can call their own, it was amazing. I just felt so powerful when I was there. They really throw you in there, and you just start building away. It's pretty incredible.
