Sean Penn Receives $8.75M to Subsidize Housing for Haitian Earthquake Victims
The Haitian government has allocated a whopping $8.75 million via the World Bank to Sean Penn's J/P Haitian Relief Organization, the New York Post reports. The funds have been earmarked for building and rent subsidies for victims of the Haitian earthquake who are still living on a private golf course. Some 14,000 people will be moved into new housing in a region called Delmas 32, thanks to the efforts of Penn's organization. They are expected to be in new homes by the beginning of next year.
