Early in the night, Jimmy Kimmel came onstage like a verbal bull in a china shop. While presenting the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (won by "Mom" actress Allison Janney), the funnyman wondered aloud why recent Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey was there. "You may well be the best actor," Jimmy said. "How many of those speeches are we supposed to sit through?” He later said that the "True Detective" star didn't have a "TV face," but more of a "movie star" face. He then called on Ricky Gervais and didn't back off. "That's a TV face," he said of his fellow comedian. "That's not even a TV face, that's a Netflix face." In a hilarious conclusion, he told Matthew McConaughey to leave the show that awards TV actors, and to "take Julia Roberts with you while you're at it."
