After rumors swirled about simmering tensions between Elon Musk and Donald Trump — who were inseparable for nearly a year — the Tesla boss seemingly confirmed the fallout: "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate. Such ingratitude," he wrote on X._
Elon Musk kicked off his split from Donald Trump by criticizing the Republican leader's Big, Beautiful Bill."I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore," the billionaire lamented on X on Tuesday, June 3. "This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."
"Congress is making America bankrupt," he continued. "In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people."

On Thursday, June 5, Donald Trump addressed the distance between Elon Musk and himself during a press briefing in the Oval Office: "I'm very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here — better than you people. He knew everything about it. He had no problem with it," the commander-in-chief said. "All of a sudden, he had a problem. And he only developed the problem when he found out that we're going to have to cut the EV mandate.""Elon and I had a great relationship," Trump added. "I don't know if we will anymore."

In response to Donald Trump's reaction to the end of their friendship, Elon Musk shared a lengthy post on X, writing, "Whatever. Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil and gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!), but ditch the MOUNTAIN of DISGUSTING PORK in the bill. In the entire history of civilization, there has never been legislation that (sic) both big and beautiful. Everyone knows this! Either you get a big and ugly bill or a slim and beautiful bill. Slim and beautiful is the way."Things got a bit more personal when Musk brought up Trump's ties to late registered s** offender and accused trafficker Jeffrey Epstein: "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files," the entrepreneur alleged. "That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
