For the past year, Emma Watson has focused more on activism than movies. That's about to change with her return to the screen in "Beauty and the Beast," which she tells Elle UK was "pure escapism." "It wasn't about me necessarily proving anything … I was just thinking that I have this year to myself, so let's see what we can do to 'move the needle' and make a difference," she says (via JustJared). The longtime UN Women Goodwill Ambassador also pointed out that negative reactions she gets as an actress are different than those she hears about her political and social justice work. "It really toughened me up," she says. "There is a level of criticism that comes with being an actress and a public figure, which I expect, but once you take a stance on something like feminism, that's a completely different ball game."
