Donald Trump continues speaking on stage, Musk disappears from view, leaving X carefully navigating the stairs alone.
"The so-called genius forgot his human shield son. What a loving father," wrote one social media user on X.
Others took it further, calling Musk a "pure sociopath" for allegedly using the child as a "PR prop."
"Musk insists on bringing his 4-year-old son with him everywhere to use as a shield," one user posted. "And watch as he walks down these steps and totally abandons the kid. Pure. Sociopath."
Grimes Calls Out Musk Over Parenting Concerns
The CPAC controversy follows another public parenting dispute involving Musk and his ex-girlfriend — singer
Grimes. In now-deleted posts on X, Grimes accused Musk of ignoring their child's urgent medical needs. "Plz respond about our child's medical crisis," she wrote under one of Musk's posts. "I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation."
She went on to claim that Musk skipped every meeting and was not responding to texts, calls or emails. "Our child will suffer lifelong impairment if he doesn't respond asap, so I need him to f—— respond," she added, making it clear that she was resorting to public pressure out of desperation.
A Pattern of Controversy in Musk's Personal Life
Musk, who reportedly now has
13 children, has long been the subject of scrutiny regarding his parenting. His father,
Errol Musk, previously suggested that Elon is not an involved parent, while critics argue that his latest actions reinforce this perception.
Whether it's failing to keep an eye on his young son at CPAC or allegedly neglecting urgent medical matters, the SpaceX and Tesla CEO is facing increasing skepticism about his ability to balance his high-profile career with fatherhood.
Musk's Defenders Push Back Against the Backlash
