While reporting from Arizona, Kristi Noem revealed the new seven-mile stretch of wall and claimed illegal immigration dwindled due to Donald Trump's policies."Everybody, I'm here in Arizona and right at this spot, you can see where the border wall ends," the former governor of South Dakota explained while wearing a baseball hat and jacket. "As of today, we're starting seven new miles of construction, we're going to continue to make America safe again."

According to The New York Post, border crossings have been down by 95 percent since former President Joe Biden handed the reins to Donald Trump in January."Just recently, we saw less than 200 encounters in a day. That's remarkable. Now our agents can get back to doing their jobs and enforcing the law instead of processing," Kristi Noem claimed during an interview with NewsNation on Saturday, March 16.

Kristi Noem also alleged that drug dealers and cartels are scrambling to figure out how to adjust under Donald Trump's stricter rules."They recognize that we're enforcing our federal laws, that we're not letting people just walk across the border anymore. We are building a wall, we are securing our borders and we're not going to let this illegal activity continue," she said.

In another post shared to X, Kristi Noem revealed the alleged ways people were getting drugs and illegal substances across the border."Fentanyl hidden in watermelons. Humans smuggled in trucks. Meth concealed in charcoal. You name it, our Customs and Border Protection field officers are finding it," she claimed. "Proud of the work our officers are doing to keep America safe at Nogales Port of Entry."

According to CBP data via Fox News, 458 miles of primary and secondary barriers were built during Donald Trump's first time in the White House. When Joe Biden took over in 2021, he ordered to halt construction along the U.S.-Mexico border. However, in 2023, 20 miles of the structure was allowed to be built as funding appropriated by Congress during the right-wing leader's time in office was already in place.
