During a White House press briefing, Donald Trump responded to Javad Larijani's bold statement that he shouldn't go outside to tan at his Mar-a-Lago resort in case of a drone strike. "It's been a long time [since I've sunbathed]. I don't know, maybe I was around seven or so. I'm not too big into it," Trump said. "I guess it's a threat. Following Donald Trump's bold nuclear action against Iran, Javad Larijani — senior adviser to Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei — told Iranian state TV that it may be best for the right-winger to stay indoors. It wasn't the first time Iran has seemingly threatened to harm Donald Trump. In November, the Justice Department charged Farhad Shakeri for monitoring and attempting to kill the president in retaliation for ordering the 2020 assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani with an airstrike in Iraq. Conspirators Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt were arrested but Shakeri remains at large. In July 2024, Trump was nearly assassinated by a young American man during an open-air campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, when a bullet grazed his ear.
